This tutorial will show you how to install Mambo.

- In this tutorial we will be installing Mambo
- Begin by loading your favorite FTP program
- Select all of the files in the Mambo install and upload them to your server
- All of the files have been uploaded. Now we need to create a database for Mambo to use
- I will be using cPanel to create my database. You can use your control panel software
- Enter a name for the database
- Now enter a username and password for the database
- Now we need to give our user access rights to the database
- Our database setup is complete. Now it's time to start the Mambo installer
- Go to www.yoursite.com and you will be automatically redirected to the installer
- This is the list of requirements for Mambo to run. If any of the items are red Mambo will not run correctly
- This is a list of folders that needs to be writable for Mambo to work correctly. Let's go back to the FTP program and make them writable
- Select all of the appropriate folders
- Change the attributes to make them writable
- Now if we go back to Mambo and refresh the screen, they should all be writable
- Now that they are all writable we can continue to the next step
- Read through the license and check the checkbox to be able to continue the installer
- Now we need to enter the database information we created earlier
- Enter a name for your site. You can change this later
- Enter your email address and a password for the admin account. Your username will be admin
- If you want to set the CHMOD on new files as they are uploaded by Mambo you can do that here
- Your Mambo site has now been installed. You need to delete the installation directory before you can continue. Let's go back to the FTP program
- Select the installation directory and press the delete key
- The installation directory has now been deleted. Let's go back to Mambo
- Click View Site to see your new Mambo site
