Tutorial Text

  • In this tutorial we will be exploring the Joomla Trash Manager. When you remove a content or menu item it goes to the trash manager instead of being directly deleted.
If you get rid of content a lot, you will want to keep an eye on the trash manager to keep your database from getting too large.
  • Navigate to Site >> Trash Manager
  • The trash manager is split into two categories, Content Items and Menu Items.
  • Select the Example FAQ Item 1 content item. We will Restore this to it's original location.
  • You will get a confirmation screen letting you know which items are being affected and what will happen to them. Click the Restore button to continue.
  • You will now get a pop-up confirming you want to Restore them. Click Ok.
  • Now let's select the Content Title item and Delete it.
  • You will get a screen similar to the restore confirmation screen, but explaining that this will permanently delete these items. Click on Delete to continue.
  • You will get another pop-up. Click OK to continue.
  • You will get a message that the items have been deleted.
