Tutorial Text

  • In this tutorial we will manually install a language using the Joomla language installer. This is useful if your host does not support gunzip.
  • Right-click your language file and select Extract to 451germani\
  • Right-click on your newly created folder and select Copy. If you are uploading to a remote server this would be the time to connect to your FTP client.
  • The folder we want to connect to is administrator/ components/ com_install/ language.
  • Paste/upload the language folder to this folder.
  • The folder is now uploaded. Let's now go to Joomla.
  • To begin navigate to Installers >> Languages.
  • Type the path to your folder in the Install directory field and click Install.
  • This screen will show you any information about the language you just installed.
  • When you are ready click Continue...
  • You can now see your lanaguage was installed.
