This tutorial will show you how to manually install a component on your Joomla site.

In this tutorial we will be installing a component manually using the Joomla component installer. This is helpful if your host does not support gunzip.
First you will need to extract your file to your local hard drive.
After the extracting is complete we will copy the folder to our clipboard. If you are developing on a remote server this would be where you would connect to FTP and upload the files.
Now we copy the folder to our Joomla folder. The folder to copy to is administrator/ components/ com_install/ component
Now our folder is in the correct spot. Let's go back over to Joomla.
To begin navigate to Installers >> Components.
Type the path to the folder you just uploaded/copied in the Install directory field and click Install.
This screen will show you details about the component you just installed.
When you are ready click Continue...
We can now see Simpleboard has been installed.
