• In this tutorial we will be installing a component manually using the Joomla component installer. This is helpful if your host does not support gunzip.
• First you will need to extract your file to your local hard drive.
• After the extracting is complete we will copy the folder to our clipboard. If you are developing on a remote server this would be where you would connect to FTP and upload the files.
• Now we copy the folder to our Joomla folder. The folder to copy to is administrator/ components/ com_install/ component
• Now our folder is in the correct spot. Let's go back over to Joomla.
• To begin navigate to Installers >> Components.
• Type the path to the folder you just uploaded/copied in the Install directory field and click Install.
• This screen will show you details about the component you just installed.
• When you are ready click Continue...
• We can now see Simpleboard has been installed.
