This tutorial will show you how to edit the configuration in DocMAN

  • In this tutorial we will be exploring the DocMAN configuration
  • Begin by clicking on Configuration from the DocMAN control panel
  • This is where you can change the folder you store your documents in. You can change it to any location you like, but it needs to be writable
  • Let's move on to the next tab
  • Set this to off if you do not want regular users to have access. This is useful when upgrading or testing the system
  • You can edit the type of file extensions that can be viewed. This can keep regular users from access certain doc types
  • You can set the number of documents to show per page
  • You can change the default sort order
  • You can allow users to discuss documents on your site
  • You can change the size of the icons to fit your site's style
  • You can set DocMAN to automatically clean up the output. This will save bandwidth and loading time
  • You can set how long a document is marked a new document
  • You can set how many times a document needs to be downloaded to be considered hot
  • You can enter licenses for your documents, and set if they should be displayed here

  • You can change the permissions for guests to your site. These are users who are not logged in
  • You can set the lowest user group that has access to upload new documents
