- In this tutorial we will be exploring the DocMAN configuration
- Begin by clicking on Configuration from the DocMAN control panel
- This is where you can change the folder you store your documents in. You can change it to any location you like, but it needs to be writable
- Let's move on to the next tab
- Set this to off if you do not want regular users to have access. This is useful when upgrading or testing the system
- You can edit the type of file extensions that can be viewed. This can keep regular users from access certain doc types
- You can set the number of documents to show per page
- You can change the default sort order
- You can allow users to discuss documents on your site
- You can change the size of the icons to fit your site's style
- You can set DocMAN to automatically clean up the output. This will save bandwidth and loading time
- You can set how long a document is marked a new document
- You can set how many times a document needs to be downloaded to be considered hot
- You can enter licenses for your documents, and set if they should be displayed here

- You can change the permissions for guests to your site. These are users who are not logged in
- You can set the lowest user group that has access to upload new documents
