This tutorial will show you how to edit the configuration in Community Builder |
Tutorial Text
- In this tutorial we will be exploring the Community Builder configuration
- Begin by navigating to Components -> Community Builder -> Configuration
- Name Style allows you to select how you want to capture names when users are registering
- Name Format allows you to select how to display the user's name
- Date Format allows you to select how you would like dates displayed
- Email Handling allows you to select how users can contact each other via email on your site
- Emails sent From allows you to select the from and reply-to settings for emails sent from CB
- Email Links allows you to select if you want to show email contact links for the users
- Website Links allows you to select if you want to show links to user's websites
- Online Status allow you to select if you want to show the online status of users
- Let's move on to the Registration tab
- Require Admin Approval allows you to select if you want to moderate user registrations
- Require Email Confirmation allows you to select if you want users to have to confirm their registration via email
- Registration Email Name allows you to choose the From name on registration emails
- Registration Email Address allows you to choose the from email address on registration emails
- Registration Reply To Email Address allows you to choose the reply-to email address on registration emails
- Pending Approval Subject allows you to set the subject of the email that users receive when their account is pending approval
- Pending Approval Email allows you to edit the email that gets sent to users when the user's account is pending approval
- Welcome Subject allows you to choose the subject of the welcome email sent to new users
- Welcome Email allows you to edit the welcome email sent to new users
- Introduction text for registration allows you to set intro text for your registration form
- Concluding text for registration allows you to set text to display after your registration form
- Enable Terms & Conditions allows you to select if your site has a T&C
- URL To Terms & Conditions allows you to set the URL to your T&C
- URL for first login visit allows you to set a URL to redirect users to the first time they login after registering. Useful for a thank you page
- Let's move on to the User List tab
- Users Per Page allows you to set the number of users to show per page
- Allow Link to Profile allows you to choose if the username should link to the user's profile
- Let's move on to the User Profile tab
- Username allows you to choose if the username should be editable
- Required Fields in Admin allows you to choose if the required field settings should be followed in the administrator
- Allow Access To allows you to choose what group of users can view profiles
- Minimum hits-interval allows you to choose the number of minutes between hits to count as seperate hits
- Community Builder Template allows you to choose the template to use for profiles
- 2 columns layout widths allows you to set the width of the columns in a 2 column layout
- 3 columns layout widths allows you to set the width of the columns in a 3 column layout
- Nest Tabs allows you to choose if tabs should be nested on the profile panel
- W3C XHTML 1.0 Trans. compliance allows you to choose if CB should used valid XHTML output
- Let's move on to the Images tab
- Path to ImageMagick allows you to specify the path to ImageMagick on your site. Leave as auto to have CB detect it automatically
- Path to NetPBM allows you to specify the path to NetPBM on your server. Leave as auto to have CB detect it automatically
- Image Software allows you to choose which image processing software to use
- Picture allows you to set if users should have a picture in their profile
- Allow Image Upload allows you to choose if users should be able to upload images to their profile
- Use Image Gallery allows you to choose if users should be able to choose an image from a gallery
- Max Image Height allows you to set the max height of uploaded images
- Max Image Width allows you to set the max width of uploaded images
- Max Image Filesize allows you to set the max filesize of uploaded images
- Max Thumbnail Height allows you to set the max height of thumbnails
- Max Thumbnail Width allows you to set the max width of thumbnails
- Let's move on to the Moderation tab
- Moderator Groups allows you to choose the lowest level user group to be CB moderators
- Moderator Approve Users allows you to choose if new users need to be approved by a moderator
- Send Moderators Email allows you to choose if moderators should be sent an email when their attention is needed on the site
- Allow User Reports allows you to choose if users should be able to report inappropriate behavior on the site
- Require Upload Image Approval allows you to choose if newly uploaded images require moderator approval
- Allow Profile Banning allows you to choose if moderators should be able to turn off a user's profile
- Let's move on to the Connections tab
- Enable Connections allows you to choose if users should be able to mark other users as friends
- Display Type allows you to choose if the connections the users make displayed or not
- Display Connection Path allows you to choose to dispay the path between user's connections and profiles
- Mutual Consent allows you to choose if user's need to approve others adding them to their connections
- Notification & Notification Method allows you to choose if and how users are notified of new connections
- Cross Connections allows you to choose if both parties get a connection setup when one user requests a connection
- Connection Types allows you to set the choices for connection types
- Let's move on to the Integration tab
- Version checking on Configuration allows you to choose if CB should check for new versions automatically. This is not an auto-update feature
